That year, the majority of daily smokers were 55 to 64 years old, amounting to a share of 16 percent of men and women respectively. The largest differences between the share of men and women that were smoking on a daily basis was in the age group of 16 to 24 years, and 35 to 44 years, where the share of men were higher than the share of women.
