Amazon forest in Brazil: deforested area by land 2022

In Brazil, more than half of the deforested area in the Amazon rainforest occurrs in private land areas. In the first six months of 2022, this type of land consistently accounted for at least 60 percent of the deforested area reported. In contrast, in the same period, less than five percent of the Brazilian Amazon's deforestation took place in indigineous land.
