Hopeful for Japan in the future 2017, by generation The statistic illustrates the results of a survey about hope for the future of the country among individuals in Japan as of September 2017. In the period examined, the highest share of people responding to feel hopeful for the future of Japan was among the cinema generation, at about 22.1 percent. The cinema generation is defined as people born between 1937 and 1945 who worked hard during the high economic growth after World War 2.
