Waiting time for diagnostic tests in Italy 2018-2019, by type
In 2019, the diagnostic test Italian citizens had to wait the most for were mammographies. In fact, the average waiting time for such tests was found to be 15 months. This statistic confronts average waiting times in 2019 with data from the year before, for different diagnostic tests. For many of the services considered, the waiting period to have a test performed got slightly shorter. For instance, the waiting time for a CT scan went from an average of 11 months in 2018 to eight months in 2019.
