This statistic shows the results of a survey on the payment methods used to purchase Christmas gifts in the UK in 2017. The results show that most respondents used their savings to pay for gifts (81.5%) and 38.5% used credit cards. Whilst some respondents used short term payday loans and personal loans to purchase Christmas gifts (12.6% and 91% respectively), 8.9% of respondents borrowed from friends and family.
