Perceived and actual unemployment rate in Australia 2018
This statistic presents the results of a survey on perceived unemployment rate among working age population in Australia as of October 2018. According to data published by Ipsos, Australian respondents overestimated the level of unemployment in their country by 18 percent. On average, the respondents thought that around 23 out of every 100 Australian people of working age were unemployed and looking for work, when the actual unemployment rate was five percent in Australia.
