Deaths caused by cerebrovascular disorders in Spain 2006-2021
In 2021, the annual number of deaths caused by cerebrovascular disorders reached around 24.8 thousand in Spain, the lowest value registered since 2006. During the analyzed period, the number of casualties resulting from cerebrovascular diseases decreased by about 24 percent in the European country. Cerebrovascular diseases are a type of health condition affecting the blood vessels and circulation in the brain. Common risk factors include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and smoking, among others.
