Street dogs and cats rescued Spain 2008-2019

This statistic displays the development of the number of dogs and cats rescued from the Spanish streets between 2008 and 2019. The number of dogs and cats rescued in Spain decreased steadily over the period of time under consideration, ranging from 156.8 thousand in 2008 down to 138.4 thousand dogs and cats in 2018. In 2019, however, there was a sharp increase in the number of stray pets, with over three hundred thousand registered throughout that year.
