Latin America: alcohol consumption share 2016, by country & type
This statistic depicts a distribution of the per capita consumption of alcohol in Latin America and in the Caribbean in 2016, broken down by country and type of beverage. Beer consumption represented almost 80 percent of the per capita alcohol consumption in Ecuador, based on consumption volume in liters of pure alcohol. The highest share of spirits consumption was registered in Haiti, with more than 97 percent, while Uruguay had the highest proportion of wine consumption, estimated at almost 44 percent.
