Carnival is the most important season for the Brazilian tourism sector. Other service segments related to tourism such as foodservice, transport and lodging demand a large amount of seasonal workforce every February. In 2022, the Brazilian Carnival created 15.2 thousand temporary jobs. This number was expected to reach 24.6 thousand in 2023.
