Economic impact of COVID-19 on international association meetings worldwide 2020-2021
In 2020 and 2021, the expenditure on international association meetings amounted to only 15.4 percent and 21.7 percent of the figure recorded in 2019. As a result, the estimated losses in both years was closed to 9.2 billion and 8.5 billion U.S. dollars. The decline in the number of events and attendees represented the main cause of expenditure loss.
