This statistic illustrates the annual average deal performance of merger and acquisitions index returns (share price returns) for acquirers worldwide from 2009 to 2018. During the entire period the median-adjusted performance of all acquirers was 3 percentage points (pp), which means that index returns for acquirers have been 3 percent higher than zero, an indication that those with shares in a acquisition company have profited from M&A.
