Malaysia: voters' opinions on the direction of the country, by ethnicity 2018

This statistic shows the share of respondents who felt that Malaysia was heading in the right direction, as of August 2018, broken down by ethnicity. During the period surveyed, the respondents from an ethnic Indian background were the most positive about the political direction that Malaysia was heading in, with 75 percent stating that they find that Malaysia was heading in the right direction. In comparison, 49 percent of the respondents from an ethnic Malay background stated that they thought Malaysia was heading in the right direction, which was below the national average of 55 percent.
