*Parmigiano Reggiano and Grana Padano are distinguished by several characteristics. Particularly, the production zones of Grana Padano are extended to more regions, whereas Parmigiano Reggiano is mainly produced in Emilia-Romagna. Furthermore, the rennet of Grana Padano has animal, plant or bacterial origins, while the rennet of Parmigiano Reggiano had only animal origin. They also have difference in the aging, the percentage of fat and in the use of preserving agents.
Trentingrana is a grana hart cheese belonging to the PDO Group of Gran Padano. Its main characteristic is the production zone (Province of Trento).
