Microplastics production in cosmetics industry in EU 2012-2020
This statistic depicts the production of microplastics used in the cosmetics industry in in the European Union from 2012 to 2016, with a forecast for the years between 2017 and 2020. Over the period of consideration, the amount of microplastic induced by the manufacture of personal and cosmetic products constantly decreased. In 2012, the microplastics produced added up to 8,6 thousand tons, whereas the quantity was expected to amount to 4,4 thousand tons in 2020.
