As of this point in time, the French soccer player André-Pierre Gignac, playing for the Mexican club Tigres UANL was the highest paid player in a Latin American club, with an annual income of approximately 4.6 million U.S. dollars. The Chilean Eduardo Vargas, also playing for Tigres UANL, ranked second, with an income of three million dollars.
