Patients on transplant waiting lists in Mexico 2022, by organ
In 2022, more than 20 thousand patients were on transplant waiting lists in Mexico. Kidneys were the organ with the highest number of patients waiting for a transplant in the North American country, with around 15.4 thousand people. Corneas followed, with approximately 4.2 thousand patients. Meanwhile, those awaiting for a heart transplant amounted to 30 people, while a total of 42 heart transplants took place in Mexico that year.
