Patients on transplant waiting lists in Chile 2023, by organ
As of July 12, 2023, the organ with the highest number of patients on the transplant waiting list in Chile was the kidney. That year, approximately 1,799 people were waiting for a kidney transplant in the South American country, while about 213 persons awaited for a liver intervention. Moreover, around 934 patients on the national transplant waiting list were expecting a cornea transplant. In 2020, Chile reported roughly 7.4 donors per million population.
