Spain, on the other hand, registered the largest quantity of Venezuelans with recognized refugee status under UNHCR's mandate: almost 88,500. As of year-end 2021, the U.S. recorded almost 246,750 asylum applications from Venezuelan migrants, and it had granted refugee status to another 18,735.
