In 2017, Euro 3 motorcycles accounted for over a third of the number of vehicles in the Italian city of Venice. The second most popular class of motorcycles was the Euro 0 category, accounting for 29 percent of the total. Only three percent of the motorcycles belonged to the Euro 4 class.

*The European emission standards define emission limits for vehicles. The most stringent one, the Euro 6 standards, were introduced for light vehicles in September 2014. Since 2015, all newly introduced models in Europe had to comply with them. By contrast, Euro 0 vehicles are not subject to any emission requirements and are the most polluting category.
