Share of people with Golden Week travel intentions in Japan 2018-2023

In a survey conducted in March 2023 in Japan, 11.1 percent of respondents stated that they will travel during Golden Week. In total, around 26.5 percent of respondents intended to travel sometime between April 25 and May 5. This was significantly more than the travel intentions reflected during the previous years' survey, reaching pre-pandemic figures.
