In 2020, no cases of malaria were reported in Paraguay. The latest malaria cases in the South American country occurred in 2017 when five cases were detected. The number of malaria patients in Paraguay has been relatively low, in 2010 the total number of cases reported amounted to 29, and it has since then been decreasing with few exceptions in 2012 and 2016.
