Australian health cost savings through complementary medicine use as of 2014

This report, published by the Australian Self Medication Industry (ASMI), presents a study done by Frost & Sullivan on the potential health outcomes and cost savings of select complementary medicines in Australia. The report includes the following disease conditions: osteoporosis or osteopenia, cardiovascular disease (CVD), age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and moderate major depression; and looks at the impact of complementary medicines such as calcium and vitamin D, magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids, and folic acid B6 and B12 on these disease conditions.
