With nearly US$300 per capita, Japanese spent the most on beauty and personal care products in 2019, closely followed by South Korea.

In 2019, the Beauty & Personal Care market realized a revenue of US$505 billion worldwide, with Personal Care being the biggest segment. The segment accounted for 45% of the revenues, followed by the Skin Care segment with 27%. Revenues are increasing at a CAGR of 3% between 2012 and 2023. The Cosmetics market, however, shows even higher growth and is expected to grow 5% annually, closely followed by the Skin Care segment with an expected growth of 4% per year.
