With nearly US$300 per capita, Japanese spent the most on beauty and personal care products in 2018, closely followed by South Korea, while Ethiopia is expected to record the largest increase in per-capita sales from 2018 to 2023.

In 2018, the Beauty & Personal Care market realized a revenue of US$414 billion worldwide, with Skin Care being the biggest segment. The segment accounted for 29% of the revenues, followed by the Personal Care segment with 18%. Revenues are increasing at a CAGR of 3% between 2010 and 2023. The Cosmetics market, however, shows even higher growth and is expected to grow by 15.0% from 2018 to 2023, closely followed by the Skin Care segment with an expected growth of 13.4%.
