Report about ILEC market leaders selling parts of their businesses

One of the U.S. ILEC market leaders, Verizon, has sold a part of its business that provides traditional wireline local exchange andintrastate toll services. Changes are imminent, the sale is monitored closely. This paper focuses on the recent transfers of ontrol of wireline local exchange and intrastate telecommunications businesses by a large, highly integrated national ILEC2 to new owners who have direct experience in the business they seek to acquire, but on a very much smaller scale and scope.
