Digital marketplaces gain increasing influence

This report presents data on the e-commerce market in Europe in 2019. The report is based on interviews with 11,000 consumers, conducted with private individuals between 15 and 79 years old in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. It explores the e-commerce penetration for different product categories and which of these products are most likely to be bought abroad. Data is provided on consumer interest in low prices, their preferred payment methods, importance of fast deliveries, use of return options, and other consumer behavior and expectations.
