The World Drug Report 2020 was published by the United Nation's Office on Drugs and Crime in June 2020. The WDR is an annual document, giving the most important information on the developments in the global drug market. It tries to explain the factors that drive the international drug market. Drug production, drug markets and drug use patterns, and counternarcotic interventions are some of the main topics. The World Drug Report 2020 was published in a six part series. This is the fourth part of the report, presenting information on evolving trends and new challenges such as the opioid crisis, new psychoactive substances, and drug trafficking over the darknet.
