However, current trends have shown that Indonesian dating culture has shifted in recent years, with more Indonesians turning to online dating to find love. This shift was reflected in the number of online dating users in Indonesia reaching around 4.4 million in 2022. In addition, the Indonesian online dating market has been showing an upward trend in revenue since 2018, with the highest revenue growth recorded between 2019 and 2021.The growing interest in using online dating apps has driven global market players to expand their market in Indonesia. Tantan, Tinder, and Bumble outperformed their peers in terms of revenue as the leading dating apps in Indonesia, with combined revenue approaching six million U.S. dollars in 2022. However, in terms of app downloads, Litmatch led the way with over fourteen million downloads that year. The Shanghai-based mobile dating app, which offers Soul Game, Voice Game, and Feeds features to find a partner, is claimed by many Indonesian users to help them find chat buddies in no time.
