The same survey showed that 78 percent of customers didn't find any difficulty in paying energy bills. Furthermore, 41 percent of respondents aged between 18 and 24 years old stated they were responsible for covering these costs in their home.
When it comes to gas providers, another survey conducted in 2017 recorded a share of 18 percent of customers switching their supplier, with 28 percent using online price comparison services. The main reason causing the customers to switch was to save money, as confirmed by 72 percent of respondents.
As for electricity, 85 percent of respondents stated their electricity was made available by one of the Big Six energy suppliers. In addition, 17 percent of respondents had changed their provider in the last 12 months and 49 percent said they had used an online price comparison service the last time they switched their electricity supplier.
