Definition Individual data
Individual data is defined as collected data that can be associated with a single element in a sample.
In a survey that collects data from 26 people (Person A, Person B, Person C, and so on up to Person Z), individual data refers to all data from Person A or Person B or Person C, and so on until Person Z. The totality of all data collected in a survey is combined into aggregated data in order to be evaluated. Only with access to individual data can we make meaningful calculations in descriptive and inductive statistics.
Please note that the definitions in our statistics encyclopedia are simplified explanations of terms. Our goal is to make the definitions accessible for a broad audience; thus it is possible that some definitions do not adhere entirely to scientific standards.
