Cattle and calves slaughtered in Kenya 2016-2022
As of 2022, over 2.24 million heads of cattle and calves were slaughtered in Kenya. The amount increased slightly from two million heads in the previous year. According to the source, the increase in number of livestock slaughtered was largely attributed to increased offtake as a mitigation measure due to shortage of pasture as a result of prolonged drought.
