Value added of mining and quarrying as a share of GDP in West Africa 2020, by country
As of 2020, the value added of the mining and quarrying sector occupied 7.23 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in West Africa. Guinea and Ghana were the countries that registered the highest shares in the region, at approximately 12.7 percent and 10.5 percent of the GDP, respectively. On the contrary, Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau registered the lowest shares, at 0.42 percent and 0.02 percent, respectively.
