Food subsidy released by government in India FY 2022, by state
In financial year 2022, the Indian central government released nearly 798 billion rupees in food subsidies for states that adopted Decentralized Procurement Scheme (DCP). Of these, Madhya Pradesh received the highest subsidies amounting to over 144 billion rupees. DCP or the Decentralized Procurement Scheme subsidies were meant for procurement and distribution of food grains under initiatives of the National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA).
