Out-of-pocket expenditure as share of health spending in Colombia 2010-2021
In 2021, Colombia's out-of-pocket health payments from households accounted for approximately 14 percent of the total health expenditure in the country, down from 15 percent reported a year prior. This figure declined by around three percentage points compared to the beginning of the decade, when out-of-pocket spending on health represented 17 percent of Colombia's total health expenditure. As of 2021, Colombian households spent around 3.93 billion U.S. dollars on health care.
