Sandra Torres - representing the National Unity of Hope Party (UNE) - was the most voted candidate, having obtained more 1.1 million votes. Alejandro Giammattei came in second with over 600 thousand valid votes cast. A runoff election is scheduled for August 11th, 2019 to elect the next Guatemalan president from these two candidates.
