The Konark Sun Temple, dedicated to the Hindu sun god Surya and built in the 13th-century CE, was the most visited ASI monument by domestic visitors in the Bhubaneshwar circle in India, which accounted for nearly 2.4 million visits in fiscal year 2023. The Udaigiri excavations and Khandagiri hills were the second most visited monuments with nearly five hundred visitors during the same period.
