Strong coffee culture in South Korea
In 2023, a considerable amount of South Korean survey participants said they drank at least one cup of coffee per day. Many Koreans seem to enjoy drinking coffee widely. This may have to do with the number of coffee franchise brand chains. The top five domestic coffee chains in South Korea make up over 8,000 of the many coffee store fronts operating in the country, allowing more Koreans easy, on-the-go access to their daily coffee.
Coffee habits of South Koreans
Among adults in South Korea, most consider coffee as their favorite beverage. In particular, around a quarter of respondents in a survey preferred coffee to other non-alcoholic beverages. The average monthly expenditure on coffee and tea per household amounted to 948,000 South Korean won in 2022, showing people's willingness to consume coffee.
