Number of domestic air passengers carried on local routes in Japan 2013-2022
In 2022, airlines in Japan carried around 44.9 million domestic passengers on local routes, up from about 24.4 million passengers in the previous year. Domestic air passenger transportation in Japan is dominated by the two major airlines Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways, as well as their respective subsidiaries.
