Annual rail freight volume of coal in Russia 2020-2023, by destination
Export and domestic coal freight volume transported by rail in Russia was fluctuant over the period observed. In 2023, the freight volume of coal transported for export purposes stood at around 196 million metric tons, having decreased slightly from the year before. To compare, coal transported for domestic use was measured at approximately 154 million metric tons.
