French consumers degree of readiness to use electronic wallets 2020
With the rise of the e-commerce, which has been predicted to reach a total turnover of over 115 billion euros in 2020, the necessity for faster, transparent and secure payment methods has risen. Thus, when a sample of more than 1,000 French people were asked about if they were ready to use new emerging online technologies such as electronic wallets, their opinion was mitigated: 51 percent were certainly or probably ready to use it, whereas 49 percent had a negative perception of it. Paying through QR codes was another measure for which French consumers expressed their suspicions.
