Leading banks in East Africa 2022, by tier 1 capital
Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) ranked as the leading bank in East Africa, according to the level of tier 1 capital, which consists of core capital, reserves, retained earnings, and minority interests. The financial institution registered capital of roughly 1.4 billion U.S. dollars. Equity Bank Group of Kenya and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia followed with tier 1 capital evaluated at 1.2 billion U.S. dollars and 940 million U.S. dollars, respectively.
