Whirlpool's GHG emissions worldwide by scope 2016-2023
From 2016 to 2023, Whirlpool Corporation has decreased their direct scope 1 and scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout the world by over 370 thousand metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (mtCO2e). Scope 3 emissions, which denotes the use of sold products, is the largest category for Whirlpool emissions, alone totaling 49 million mtCO2e in 2023.Â
Whirlpool also indicates that their normalized environmental key performance indicators (KPIs) for Scope 1 and 2's GHG emissions intensity are much lower than Scope 3's GHG emissions intensity, with 0.0124 mtCO2e per product for Scope 1 and 2 compared to 1.15 mtCO2e per product for Scope 3.
