Bank assets as a share of GDP in North Africa 2021, by country
In 2021, the total assets of the banking sector in Egypt corresponded to 100.31 percent of the country's GDP. The country had the highest ratio in North Africa. Morocco and Tunisia followed, with shares of around 97 percent and 87 percent, respectively. The indicator refers to the proportion between the services provided by banks and the size of the economy.
