Net sales of alternative investment funds in Europe 2022
In 2022, equity accounted for the largest net outflows totaling 25 billion euros. Other AIFs accounted for the largest inflow of roughly 76 billion euros. The in/outflow structure of an Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) is a direct consequence of how investors choose to manage their assets across their portfolio. The Dutch pension scheme is among the largest in Europe. The rebalancing of the asset management structure in Dutch pension funds has a direct impact on the sales of AIFs in the European Union.
