Categories of sources of entertainment considered essential by consumers U.S. 2022
A survey of consumers conducted in October 2022 in the United States discovered that big brand SVOD (subscription video on demand) services were considered to be a must-have source of entertainment by about three-quarters (74 percent) of those subscribed to them. Similarly, social media platforms were considered to be essential sources of entertainment by 73 percent of households that use them. In addition, about two-thirds of consumers considered reading, streaming music sources, and MVPD/VMVPD subscriptions to be must-have sources of entertainment.
