Reasons cited by consumers why they prefer BNPL in U.S., UK, Australia in 2022
Respondents from three countries listed BNPL's ease of use as the main reason for the payment method's overall popularity in 2022. Another major draw for consumers from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia was the overall flexibility that buy now, pay later provided. The United States and Australia are two of the most researched countries in the world when it comes to buy now, pay later. The first due to its general interest in the (financial) topic, the latter because it was one of the early adopters. The market share of BNPL in domestic e-commerce payments was higher in Europe than in either of these countries.
