Adult overweight and obesity rates in Brazil 2023, by gender
A study conducted in 2023 found that overweight was more prevalent among adult men than women in Brazil. According to their estimated body mass index (BMI), more than six out of ten male respondents were overweight. On the other hand, the share of adult women with obesity, or reporting a body mass index equal to or larger than 30 kg/m2, reached nearly 25 percent as of that year.
