Accuracy of AI tools in the development workflow globally 2023

In the 2023 Stack Overflow developer survey, a split was observed in software programmers’ trust in the accuracy of the output from artificial intelligence (AI) tools. In that year, over 42 percent of programmers reported that they either highly or somewhat trust the output from these tools in their development workflow. Meanwhile, over 30 percent of developers were neutral, stating that they neither trust nor distrust the output from AI tools. Interestingly, only around 27.2 percent reported that they either highly or somewhat distrust the outputs from AI tools.
