Offshore wind power capacity in China by province 2023
As of the end of 2023, Jiangsu had an offshore wind power capacity of almost 12 gigawatts, which was the highest among all provinces in China. With its expansive coastline, the country has ideal conditions for offshore wind farms. In addition, the largest share of China's population and manufacturing is located near the coast. Therefore, compared to other energy sources, electricity from offshore wind parks does not need to be transported over long distances.
