In the period 2013-2019, around 69 percent of cancer patients surveyed between 2013 and 2019 from all ethnic groups survived a period of at least 5 years after diagnosis. This statistic shows the 5-year relative cancer survival rates in the U.S., by ethnic group, in periods between 1975 and 2019.

Rates are age adjusted for normal life expectancy and are based on cases diagnosed in the SEER 9 areas for 1975-1977 and 1995-1997, and in the SEER 22 areas for 2013-2019; all cases were followed through 2020. Rates for White and Black patients diagnosed during 2013-2019 are exclusive of Hispanic ethnicity.
